Wat Chedi Luang (Chiang Mai)

Located just within the old city of Chiang Mai, along the Sunday Night Market Street. This place is simply magnificent. I paid 40 baht and it's just wonderful. You can even get the chance to talk to the monks residing within the temple. This is one of the mus-go-to temples in Chiang Mai, and when you walk around there are several temples around the area.

I traveled to Chiang Mai for only 3 days, and it's for the second time, but still I wasn't able to satisfy myself saying that I've seen it all. Just within the Gates of Chiang Mai, there are tons of things to see. You can see the rich culture of Thai and its preservation. Travelling to Chiang Mai is worth every penny, it won't cost you an arm and a leg to travel around the city.

And also if you plan to stay overnight, I highly recommend Chiang Mai Gate Hotel, located near the Chiang Mai Gate. It's very accessible and staffs are delightful. It's also near the Saturday Night Market.

I paid 790 baht per night, breakfast included. You can contact them through phone (053) 203899 or Fax 66 53 279085. You can also visit their page at www.chiangmaigatehotel.com.
