Lampang - Doi Khun Tan National Park, Khun Tan
Transportation
Khun Tan is just an hour away from Lampang, it's the first stop and only cost 9 baht. Yes 9 baht! I could not believe it, it was even cheaper than our "lok si lo" (yellow car) going to the train station which was 20 baht each person.
You can also bring your own car or motorcycle all the way up.
I suggest the train it's nice and it only take less than an hour not bad to have some open air and a view of the mountains. They have regular train at 10:01, there are earlier trains but could be more expensive since it's the special express. You can check out the timetable in this website http://www.thailandbytrain.com/NorthernLine.html.

The last trip going back to Lampang is 4:50.
NOTE: For safety, confirm the time in the station because sometimes it's different based on the trains they use. But most of the time the schedules are the same.
From the train station there's a 20-minute walk up going to the park. The trails could be tricky because there are limited signs but you'll get there.
These are some of the signs you will see along the way.
Then you'll reach this place
Facing this sign continue to the left road until you reach the entrance of the park.
Upon entrance, you need to pay the following.
You will be given a map, and the clerk told us that by walking, it will take 4 hours going up and down. We didn't finish it since didn't take that much snack with us, and we were just too hungry to continue.
NOTE: There's only 1 food stall in the train station that serves noodles and some rice meals. They also sell snacks. If you decide to climb up bring water and food since there are no stores in the park. And take the trails if your walking it's way shorter than walking on the road. We also didn't head to the waterfall since it was only the two of us and the trail seems a little dangerous.
They also have the border line between Lampang and Lamphun. Khun Tan is between these provinces.
You can also take photos along the tunnel, just make sure there's no train coming.
Overall, it's a good place to relax, it's a quiet place and the air is nice. If you want to blow off some steam or just have some time away from the city, this place is perfect.
Spend some time with nature!
